5th Grade Expands Classroom Library

Mrs. Kara Borchers’ 5th grade class has been able to continue their love and passion for reading with new novels for their classroom library, provided by a mini-grant from the Cissna Park Education Foundation.

Mrs. Borchers was able to purchase about 20 novels with the grant to broaden her classroom library where students are able to choose books for free reading times. She said the books have been an exciting addition to the 5th grade classroom and have been read by several students already.

“Reading great books is a great way for students to deepen their comprehension, which is why I choose to write the grant for books,” said Borchers. “We are able to all bond and build relationships over good books!”
