Bowling now in Physical Education

The Elementary Physical Education classes have incorporated Bowling into their activity list. Thanks to the Education Foundation, the small gym will be modified into a six (6) lane bowling alley. Bowling is a lifelong activity. Introducing the game at an early age encourages hand-eye coordination, aiming, and also provides the experience prior to making that trip to a bowling alley. Unlike the automatic scoring at the bowling alley, the students are introduced to scoring and at the end of the unit are able to track their progress. However, in order for this activity to run as smooth as possible, the students must complete their jobs together as shown (pin duty). In all, this unit introduces a lifelong activity, develops math skills, and encourages teamwork.
